Jpegs Photographic Club
Photography enthusiasts joined together in October 2005 to form JPEG’S Photographic Club. The name JPEG was chosen at the first meeting, and stands for Joint Photographic Expert Group, a term used in digital photography. You’ll have to come along to check this out!
We meet on the last Wednesday of each month at 19.45, and are currently using a room in Watton Pentecostal Church. We enjoy a range of activities, sometimes inviting professional speakers, often simply chatting and sharing experience and knowledge over a cuppa. This year the group went “on location” to Pensthorpe Wildlife Park, near Fakenham in Norfolk. This was a terrific day; weather was great, with a prize for the best action photo, won by Trevor Rose.

All of the group use digital technology, although members do dabble in 35mm and medium format; we bring our cameras and often discuss the technology and features, sometimes getting input from the professionals. Mark Harrington of Harrington Photography gave a fantastic talk on the basics of digital photography, and has been asked to come back – watch this space for date.
New members are very welcome; there is a £1 monthly subscription which is used mainly to meet expenses of visiting speakers.
